‘Squeezebox and the Enamaller’, the project is the transformation of a 1950’s enamelling workshop into a modern multi-residential building in Brunswick.
The old bank was a challenging project with this its 5 storey height and retention gof the old street frontage. Limited access from the rear ensured this project was going to be a challenge to build.
A conceptual response to a series of unusual site conditions as a result of a division to a heritage estate in the Ivanhoe. The existing double-storey masonry structure is integrally linked to the modern architectural addition, a vertical rupture has been introduced, expressed as an unfinished brick wall, parting old and new.
This collection of three large townhouses appears as two, as the subtle raking roof forms echo the tiled pitches on surrounding houses, allowing the dense forms to sit comfortably behind generous gardens and within the old street scape.
Linden was a project that really tested the ability for concrete to show its many faces on the one project. Angled, textured, jack hammered, stacked and smooth, we hand finished all precast and in-situ walls ourselves.
